Days that last an eternity finally count down to my P-day. How Awesome! This past week introduced a big schedule change. I now have a morning and night teacher as well as two investigators. I love teaching them, sharing messages that will bless them as well as their families and bring a new level of joy to their lives. Lifting weights or playing soccer consumes most of my daily Gym time. I have yet to give a sunday talk though i have been required to prepare three.. Truly on a higher note though, this place is something else.. A 90 acre gated community, inescapable, filled with close to 1,000 missionaries set apart to represent our Savior Jesus Christ. Preparing 16 hours a day to do what he would do and say if he were here. I am surrounded by both past and present Giants of Faith! I like to think mine is growing into something likewise.. The Spirit can be felt here whenever you open up to it. I can{t wait to get to Ecuador and into the true work of the Lord. My lessons are always getting better as my Spanish abilities increase. Only down side is I ran out of Nilla-Wafers this week... /: I´ll live.
We watched a video about the building of the SLC temple this week. I can´t express how much i love temples! They are such a huge blessing and I want everyone to be able to experience them. I can´t wait until i get to see the Mexico City one, though it is currently closed. (not sure if i´m more excited to actually get out of the MTC for half a day or see the temple..) But hey! Win win i guess! {Agosto 26th} ¨God has given us all. Thus, be of good cheer because of his love and mercy for each of us. Have faith, patience, and humility. Be christ-like in all things even as King Benjamin {mosiah 2} and endure that you might receive all that the father ahs as well as temporal blessings on earth. Obey his commandments because of your love for him and he will continue to bless you beyond what could ever be repaid that me might always have joy! Keep yourself, a worthy temple and his spirit will abide in you {St John 14}. Be of good cheer and fear not, he is with us. I cherish the words of my Grandma, and for the first time I truly taught my investigator with love. Directed by the spirit I didn´t just teach a lesson but rather shared truths that I knew would bless his life and his family´s. While we are all different, our trials and trials, this gospel which is centered upon Jesus Christ is for all of us!
Sometimes I get to be the investigator for my class. it´s a lot of fun and gives me insight as to how they think and feel during lessons. Advice to self every morning: Let go of my pride. you´re not here to represent yourself, your home or your country. you are simply a vessel; a humble messenger of God. Don´t let yourself get in the way of that. It´s not about you ;) ..advice of Elder Child: Don´t rely on your own talents. Rely on the Lord and the Holy Ghost as a teacher, they will use your talents.
On a less spiritual note however.. I completed my thruster workout and feel a lot better here so I must be fully acclimated! ha, I try all of the food here in preparation for what awaits in Ecuador, and manage to hold down most of it. Yikes. Oh! ever heard of DearElder website? it´s free and fast and you can send electronic mail that they print out and put in my mail box here. Awesome! So you should all try it out.
I´ve been chosen as ¨Big Brother¨ role in the District, which i´ll gladly accept. who doesn´t love their Big brother?? I sing my favorite songs every day so I don´t forget them as well as my favorite spanish Himnos. I like singing. Lots :)
That´s about all though folks. Love hearing about and seeing pictures of home so don´t hesitate to send them my way. Keep it classy back in Utah. Love you all,
